I, myself deleted "distracting" apps from my phone over a year ago. What a relief!!
It surely helps to be more focused on other tasks and be more productive.
Most people found it a bit extreme, especially when they get annoyed that they cannot reach me on FB, Messenger, or WhatsApp whenever they want to 😄 ... not my problem 🤷🏻♀️
I also have my phone on "silence" most of the time, especially when I am working.
